But Carly and Brendan were prepared to brave it, but after a warming coffee at Baristaba (recommended!) it just meant we had the whole Honeysuckle foreshore area to ourselves, without another soul in sight.

So Nai and Dan are getting married this coming Saturday, and we got the engagement session in at the last minute. We picked a spot, good old Nobbys Beach in Newcastle, which is just lovely around sunset time.

When we arranged it, they actually asked if could some shots in the water. I’m always up for something a little bit extra that makes for the personal touch, so I was ready to go. Packed swimmers and stuck ziplock bags over my flash on a s tand – must have looked ridiculous. After a few ‘traditional’ beach shots we headed down to the rock pool, where the tide was as low as I’ve ever seen it, and all three of us jumped in the water. Well, I actually think they may have pushed each other, and I just got down low. The pelicans didn’t seem to mind

I had an absolute blast, and super keen for these guys’ wedding this coming weekend up at Forster. Beach time!

I was disappointed to hear that the graffiti wall that serves as a great background for these guys is no longer there. Bit of a shame.

So tomorrow it’s off to Coffs Harbour to watch (and photograph) this lovely couple getting married.

These guys were super keen, and still wanted to go ahead even though it was a freezing gale on a winter’s night, punctuated with driving rain for a few minutes at a time.

We headed down to Glenrock Lagoon near the scout camp. Wandering around the bush, Julia and Joel and myself discovered a mutual love for documentaries, but there wasn’t any wildlife around, so we didn’t get to make a documentary of our own.

Now their wedding was last Saturday, so I’ve added in a little sneak peek from the wedding photos at the end as a bonus.

I’m not that familiar with the eastern shore of Lake Macquarie, so we wound up at Balcolyn at a lovely little park on the point, with water on three sides. These guys totally relaxed and had a good time, and I hope you enjoy their photos.

They just have to step outside their door and they’re at Centennial Park in Cooks Hill, the perfect spot. Hope you enjoy the photos.

Not Phil and Rachel. How does 9 at night, in the pouring raining and freezing cold strike you? Well, they loved it.

We met up at Circular Quay and travelled between the Opera House and the Museum of Contemporary Art. We did try to stay under-cover, but you’ll see a few shots out in the rain.

These photos are going up a bit late, as their wedding has come and gone. You’ll get to see the wedding in a few days, for which the conditions were fortunately the opposite: sunny and warm.

Well, it was almost impossible to stop these two from cracking up, and I’m sure all the goofing off didn’t help either. But it means what you see below is all natural, and you can tell they’re quite the happy couple.

For these photos, we first headed out to an favourite place of mine, wandering around amongst the trees and the fort up the top of King Edward Park. Then we went and tried out the abandoned shack on Scenic Drive in Merewether. I’m sure that door should be locked… but it wasn’t.

Both Geoff and Fi work in training with Hunter Bible Church, and we were able to grab a Thursday lunchtime to enjoy down at Newcastle Beach and the baths for their engagement session. The shoes and socks came off and I believe some jeans got soaked.
