This past Friday night, the Memories Function Centre held an open night and fashion show to showcase their reception venue and a number of local wedding suppliers. We were asked to come along and take some photos of the night, and we thought we’d share a few of them here with you.

Wedding Cupcakes – Hello Naomi

One great way to express yourself as a couple on your wedding is through your choice of wedding cake. My friend Naomi, over at Hello Naomi makes cupcakes.

Well, they’re not really just cupcakes, mind you, they’re adorable wedding cupcake towers. At the moment, I reckon they’re fantastic value, and trust me, they taste great too!

Of course, there’s more than just the wedding cupcakes; I’m a bit of a fan of the Pac-Man and Mario cupcakes too. Anyway, make sure to check out her site and waste some minutes of your day looking at more photos on Flickr.

Wedding planning, the future

In the last year or so, I have started to interact with clients, both current and prospective, via Facebook. So I was intrigued when I ran across a new wedding planning website; that hopes to do for wedding planning what Facebook has done for catching up with your friends.

It’s called OneWed.

The idea is to make wedding planning a social event, between you and those you invite to your own private area of the site. A whole lot of little jobs that you would previously have had to do separately are all integrated in the one place:

a personal wedding website, so you can give your guests all the information they need
a wedding checklist, with a ton of usual items right there ready for you
guest lists, with photos, rsvps,
photo sharing, for ideas for your event and documenting the festivities

Sounds straight-forward right? Well, it looks like there’s a whole lot of power you get from putting all those things together.

You can tag people’s roles in your special day, so you can do things like delegating tasks to particular people (get the best man to pick up the rings), organise events (dress and suit fittings), and so on.

To top it off, there’s already some Facebook integration built in, so it can pull across your photos and details to get you started straight away.

So, it certainly looks interesting to me; who’s going to be the first couple to give it a shot?

Stunning wedding cars

At one of our recent weddings, the wedding car was “Mary-Lou” from Classic Chevy Hire Cars, a 1957 Chevy Belair.

The bride and groom absolutely loved the car, so much so that we eventually had to tear them away to get a few photos in other places!

The driver was very friendly and a great help, going above and beyond the call of duty to give us a hand during the formal photo session.
