Hannah and Troy’s wedding
Valentine’s Day is romantic, right? What if it’s also the wettest day of the year? Well, it’s supposed to be lucky to get rain on your wedding day.
So Hannah and Troy were getting married on this lucky day. We were in Tea Gardens at the Tea Gardens Hotel-Motel, an hour north of Newcastle and a lovely little town on the Myall River.
Hannah got ready in an apartment overlooking the river, and you can see below the entourage of umbrella-wielding gentleman to help her get to the venue while staying dry. Due to the rain, all our photos were indoors – we couldn’t even really go outside with umbrellas. A few shots and it was back to the party. The night was danced away. Hannah wasn’t keen on a bridal waltz, so there was an appearance by Mr Powers instead.
A few hours into the reception, and we get told that the roads are closed off due to flooding. That wasn’t a problem for everyone else, as they were all staying the night, but I was supposed to be heading home. Thanks to Dave for the room for the night, I don’t know what else I would have done. These guys look after you.
For those of you who know Hannah and Troy, check the little cards for the address to see some more photos, or have a look on Facebook. I hope you enjoy the photos and slideshow.
(Just as a technical aside, I’ve done this slideshow video as high-definition. If you have trouble viewing it, let me know in the comments.)
