Jess and Andrew’s engagement session

I’m back, and kicking off the first photos for the year with Jess and Andrew’s engagement session. This is a bit late, as we just had time to get these in before the wedding.

We headed down to King Edward Park and had fun gallivanting around the trees and flowers. We even discovered the wetlands – I’d never seen them before.

Hope you enjoy these photos.

Amanda and Keith down at the lake

This is Keith and Amanda’s engagement shoot from mid-December. With all the Christmas craziness and the excitement of a baby, I haven’t gotten around to posting their shoot. With their wedding tomorrow, it’s time to get a few photos up before it’s too late.

I’ve known Keith for a few years now, and I have to say that Amanda is the perfect girl for him. They’re both engineers, but still love having crazy fun. (I can say that: I have an engineering degree too.)

Hope you enjoy these photos, and there’ll be more of them to come after the wedding!

Warabrook lake

Keith asked Amanda to marry him at a picnic down by the Warabrook lake, and so they thought it would be nice to head down there for this shoot. I’ve omitted any photos of ducks for your sake.

Titanic re-enactment down at Warabrook play area.

Does this scene look familiar at all? At least there were definitely no icebergs around.

Walking down the road.

We also stopped by the roses at Jesmond Park for a few moments.

A quiet moment at Jesmond Park.
A rose by any other name? Roses at Jesmond park.

Happy New Year!

I hope you’ve had a great Christmas and New Year. Here at Living Light Photography we’re back at work after a few months off. The reason: the birth of our gorgeous little boy Thomas. He’ll be holding a camera before we know it.

Little Thomas.

2008 was a great year for our photography. We shot weddings from Coogee to Port Macquarie, Gunnedah to Newcastle and the Hunter Valley. We got to know some fantastic people and we’re grateful for the chance to enjoy these special days.

Looking forward, we’re planning 2009 to be even better. We don’t plan on sitting still, but rather to keep getting better, to allow people to remember their special moments through great photography.

All the best from us, and we hope you have a great year.

Lee and Will’s wedding

Well, we here are bringing our last set of wedding photos for the year. So better way to go out with a bang than to be at Lee and Will’s wedding.

It was held on top of the cliffs at Clovelly, near Coogee. Lee and her bridesmaids drove up to the park in the funky Love Bus. The ‘I dos’ were said, and from there we wandered up through the park and cliffs for our photos.

A few rounds of bowls were had, before heading off to the reception at the club. Speeches were said, meals were eaten and after quite an amusing ‘cake cutting’, everybody danced the night away!

It was a fantastic day, and thanks to Lee and Will for choosing us to capture these memories for them. I hope you enjoy the slideshow and photos below.

Brooke and Geoff’s wedding

Brooke and Geoff got married on October 18. We’re back in Newcastle this time, and it’s always a beautiful day for a wedding. That’s why we love this town!

Brooke and Geoff definitely love it too, and during the day we got to see not too few of the sites. They got married at St Columban’s at Mayfield, and then we were off to Merewether Beach for our photo session. It’s Geoff’s favourite surfing spot, but he wasn’t too keen to go out on the Sunday. I guess surfboards and weddings suits don’t really mix? Although everyone was pretty keen to shed their shoes.

After that we briefly stopped off at the old Fred Ash building on our way to Geoff’s uncle’s DeIuliis Wines, out at Hunter Valley wine country. The reception was held in the wine cellar, with tables set up amidst the hundreds of wine barrels.

Thanks Brooke and Geoff for the opportunity to capture your special day. I hope everyone enjoys the memories of your day in the slideshow and photos below. And if you don’t mind, let me know what you think in the comments section.
