Sydney Wedding: Sarah and Richard

Sometimes being a wedding photographer can be full-on. On the first weekend of June I had the pleasure of capturing two weddings, starting with Sarah and Richard’s on the Saturday (more about Sunday to come later).

I feel I’m allowed to describe day as epic, with a road-trip all the way across Sydney (yes, I’m from Newcastle, so I can call travelling the width of Sydney a road trip:), starting with the guys and girls getting ready in the Blue Mountains, then to the lovely Hillsong Chapel in Baulkham Hills and then across to the stunning Manly Golf Club for the reception.

Sarah and Richard have a long love story together, and even though Richard’s advances were rejected in primary school (and then chocolate was required to get through the speeches) they did end up together! Congratulations guys, it was a fantastic day and I hope your married life together is amazing.

Carly and Brendan’s engagement session

With the crazy weather of late, it’s been a bit tricky to get out and take some photos.

But Carly and Brendan were prepared to brave it, but after a warming coffee at Baristaba (recommended!) it just meant we had the whole Honeysuckle foreshore area to ourselves, without another soul in sight.

Chris and Hannah’s Hunter Valley wedding

Yesterday’s wedding was back on more familiar ground in the always gorgeous Hunter Valley, with the stunning Hannah and dashing Chris.:)

It was such a pleasure to be able to photograph a couple who were absolutely smitten with each other – it was the longest I’ve seen any couple take for their first dance, I think they didn’t pull apart until after FOUR songs.

Hope you enjoy these few teaser photos… there’ll be more to come later…

Lisa and Pete’s Wedding

It was an honour to photograph Lisa and Pete’s wedding this last Saturday, just two short months ago having done the same for her sister Sarah’s wedding. But they couldn’t have been more different, and each amazing.

The day was held at a property that used to belong to Lisa’s grandparents. Not that far from Newcastle, but another world away, and surrounded by the bush on all sides. Such was the serenity, we almost didn’t notice the leeches.:)A bit of jumping up and down, and sending groomsmen running for the Aeroguard, and all was well.

And tell me, how many couples spend their wedding night in a tent? …
